The 2023 KCPE results are set to be released by the Ministry of Education. The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams results will be the first to be released with the KCSE results expected at a much later date.

As it has been tradition, candidates or interested parties will be able to check the results online and through SMS. Given the expected surge in parties interested in checking the results, checking the results online might be slow for some people. The SMS option should be much quicker but it is not free as it costs Ksh 25 per SMS.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu is set to release the results in Nairobi this morning. In 2023, over 1.4 candidates sat for the KCPE exams.

Here is how to check the KCPE 2023 results using two main options, via SMS or online. 

Send the student index number via SMS to 40054. 

  • Open the messages app on your phone.
  • Key in your KCSE index number
  • Send to 40054

This option works with all network including Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom and even Equitel. After sending, you will get a text back with the results.

You can check for as many candidates as you would like but each SMS costs Ksh 25.

  • Open the messaging app on your phone.
  • Start a new message.
  • Enter the message recipient number as 40054.
  • Type in your KCPE Index number.
  • Send the message and wait for the response.
