Bolt Food launches scheduled delivery service in Nairobi

Bolt Food

Bolt Food has launched a new feature for users to schedule orders. This allows customers to pre-order meals and place them at any time. This will be possible even when restaurants are fully booked, closed, or when couriers are in high demand.

The scheduled orders feature should help restaurants in optimizing their orders, boosting revenue, and efficiently managing kitchen preparation time. This feature is and has been available on some of its key competitors such as Glovo and Uber Eats. On both Glovo and Uber Eats, you can order from any restaurant near you even when is not open and scheduled for delivery the following day or when they open. The feature is also targeting those who may want guaranteed deliveries as you can order anytime and schedule the delivery at your convenience.

How to Schedule Deliveries on Bolt Food

To schedule an order from a restaurant, you can follow these steps.

Edgar Kitur, Country Manager, Bolt Food said: “Scheduled orders will enhance the overall Bolt Food app experience for restaurants, couriers, and customers, resulting in a smoother operation. The feature allows restaurants to optimise order management and kitchen preparation, couriers to increase their earnings by strategically planning deliveries throughout the day, and customers to enjoy their favourite restaurant meals through Bolt Food, all at their preferred time and location. Since we launched, there has been a 20% uptick in orders utilising this feature.”

Bolt Food has also announced that it offers 24/7 delivery services on weekends. The platform has over 1500 restaurants but at the moment, only 40 restaurants are available to deliver food 24 hours a day. These include Piri Piri Barbecue, Chowpaty, Pizza Hut, Evry.Day Mart among others.
