Vertiv Expands Presence in Africa with New Nigerian Office and Customer Showroom

Vertiv Nigerian office

Vertiv is strengthening its commitment to the African continent by inaugurating a new Nigerian office and Customer Showroom in Lagos. This expansion aims to provide Nigerian customers and partners with a firsthand experience of Vertiv’s cutting-edge thermal management, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and integrated cabinet solutions. In this article, we will delve into the significance of this move and how it reflects Vertiv’s dedication to supporting Africa’s growing digital economy.

Africa is witnessing a rapid transition towards digitalization, driven by increasing internet penetration rates and a thriving cloud services market. As a result, data centers, fiber-optic broadband expansion, and telecom towers are emerging as the new backbone of the African economy, according to African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), a leading African infrastructure private equity manager.

Wojtek Piorko, the managing director for Vertiv Africa, emphasizes the pivotal role of robust data center infrastructure in supporting Africa’s digital transformation. He highlights that Vertiv is well-prepared to provide the essential digital infrastructure required by local telecommunication networks and commercial facilities to facilitate this transformation.

The newly established Nigerian office and Customer Showroom represent a significant milestone in Vertiv’s strategic expansion in Africa. Here are the key features of these facilities:

  1. Hands-On Experience: Nigerian customers and partners can explore a range of Vertiv products, including the Vertiv™ SmartCabinet™ and the Vertiv™ Liebert® EXS UPS, under real field conditions. Expert engineering specialists are on hand to provide support and insights.
  2. Virtual Reality (VR) Experience: The Customer Showroom incorporates VR technology that allows visitors to immerse themselves in a virtual environment. With VR headsets and hand controllers, visitors can interact with equipment, view animations demonstrating space optimization within Vertiv products, and inspect the spatial placement of Vertiv’s rack and row solutions as if they were physically present.
  3. Training Hub: The center offers presales, sales, and product training, as well as full-service certification courses for Vertiv’s authorized service partner network. This demonstrates Vertiv’s commitment to equipping local professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support their products effectively.

Vertiv’s expansion into Nigeria aligns with its broader investment strategy in Africa. In 2022, the company established a similar facility in Nairobi, Kenya, and earlier this year, it opened its African headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa. These developments underscore Vertiv’s dedication to fostering digital infrastructure across the continent.
