Realme has today announced the launch of the realme C55 in Kenya. This is the latest in the company’s growing C series an is available starting from Ksh 24,899 for the 8GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage. There is a 6GB variant with 64 or 128GB of storage that you can get for less that this. The C55 takes over from the realme C33 that we have had in Kenya since late last year. It is not its direct successor but given that they are in the same series, it plays the part well.

    realme C55 Specifications

The realme C55 comes with a 6.72 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 90Hz refresh rate. These are standard specs for a display on a smartphone within its price range. Powering this phone is the Mediatek Helio G88 processor, the same one we find on the Infinix Hot 30 which is available within the same price range. It does come with 8GB of RAM as standard as well as 8GB of virtual RAM that you can use to bring the total RAM available to 16GB. Keep in mind that the extra 8GB of RAM is just virtual RAM and uses part of your available ROM.

The realme C55 comes with a 64MP camera at the back. The C55 is the first C Series product to feature a flagship OV64B sensor with 0.7μm pixel size and 1/2″ optical format, the same sensor used in the realme GT Master Edition. As for selfies, the realme C55 has an 8MP selfie camera.

Providing all the power is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging. The company says, with this, it can charge to 100% in just 63 minutes. Compared to its predecessor C35 with an 18W charge, the C55 significantly increases the charge speed by 100%.
