The primary school students who sat for their KCPE exams a few weeks back can now breath a sigh of relief as the results are finally out. The results have been announced by the new Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at the Exam Council’s office at Mtihani House along Denis Pritt Road. You have two main options to check the 2022 KCPE results:

  • Open the messages app on your phone.
  • Key in your KCPE index number
  • Send to 20076

This works with all network including Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom and even Equitel. After sending, you will get a reply with the results.

Each SMS cost KES 25.

You can alai go directly to the KNEC website to check. With the website, you may have to exercise some patience as the number of people doing the same might be high and this may slow down the website.

“The 2022 exams were carried out in the best manner, and the results are credible… KNEC has been able to deliver the examinations, especially at a time 2 exams were running concurrently,” said Julius Nyabundi (Council Chairman) during the results announcement.

PS for Basic Education Dr Belio Kipsang said all 2022 KCPE candidates, whose results were released will transit to form 1 under the 100% transition policy.

CS Machogu on the other hand said, “I am particularly impressed with 39 candidates with special needs who scored 400 marks and above, compared with only two in 2021.”

The CS also said that he has formed a committee to develop guidelines to ensure seamless transition of grade six learners to junior secondary school.
