Microsoft has announced the appointment of Phyllis Migwi as its new Country manager for Kenya.

“I am delighted to welcome Phyllis to the Microsoft Africa Regional Cluster team as the new Kenya Country Manager. I am confident that her extensive experience in Technology in Africa will help us scale partner and customer business impact through the value of Microsoft Cloud. As a strong advocate of Africa’s potential, I believe that Phyllis is a critical addition in unlocking the unique opportunities on the continent,”says Wael Elkabbany, Africa Regional Cluster General Manager.

She will be taking over from Kendi Nderitu who has left the company to Join Meta, Facebook’s parent company. Kendi has been the Country Manager for Kenya since January 2020.

Before joining Microsoft, Phyllis was at IBM as the Regional Hybrid Cloud and AI Leader-Africa Growth Market. She has vast experience in driving growth in the tech sector in Africa over two decades.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to play my part in Africa’s economic growth story. To position Microsoft as the premier partner for that growth, while developing the leaders who will overcome present challenges and build memorials for the future,” said Phyllis.

As the Country manager, she will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships across the company’s subsidiaries, and regional sales and marketing departments. The role also calls for the creation of strategies, building of plans, allocation of resources and the establishment of priorities and supervising engagements – all with the ultimate goal of increasing Microsoft’s share of voice.

She has an MBA from Hult International Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce from Catholic University of East Africa.
