    The Nothing Brand launches its first-ever breakthrough smartphone, Nothing Phone #1

    We don’t know if we are the only ones obsessed with new technologies, or are we? If you are not aware, there was a significant launch conference but not here in Kenya Earlier today, Carl Pei, one of the co-founding members of  OnePlus smartphones, finally announced the nothing phone from his new Nothing brand.

    Already here on TechArena a couple of weeks ago, we had already given you some hints concerning this incredible package, and now we have everything that you need to Know about the Nothing phone (1)

    We did not learn much from this conference, but we corroborated the findings on the web. Here we go, um the Nothing Phone (1) comes in either white or black colors and vibrantly  measures 159.2 mm in height, 75.8 mm in breadth, and 8.3 mm in thickness, and weighs 193.5 grams overall

    There is more than what your eyes can depict, so this particular, just like flagship models of 2022, still incorporates a 6.55-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,400 pixels), HDR10+ compatibility, plus a refresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz. In addition, it has a corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection that covers its front side (like the back of the device).

    Under the hood, we have the  Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ 5G SoC, supported by 8 /128or 12/256  GB of RAM, depending on the configuration chosen. It also comes with its inhouse overlay(Nothing OS 1.0.2) skilled out of Android 12

    The back of the Nothing Phone (1) offers a primary lens (Sony IMX766 sensor) of 50 MP (ƒ/1.88; 1 µm) and an ultra-wide-angle (Samsung JN1 sensor) of 50 MP (ƒ/2.2) with a field of view of 144°, which also acts as a macro sensor. At the front, the 16 MP selfie sensor (Sony IMX471 sensor) (ƒ/2.45) is hidden under the punch located at the top left of the screen.

    Still, the primary sensor can show videos in 4K at 30 frames per second on the cameras. You have to be content with the 1080p resolution to reach 60 fps, but it benefits from optical and electronic image stabilization.

    The manufacturer promises that the Nothing Phone (1) offers two days of standby time with its 4,500 mAh battery. Which, moreover, accepts a maximum charging power of 33 W reverse charge of 5 W. Thus, the smartphone can recover 50% of the battery in 30 minutes. By the way, the manufacturer notes that the smartphone does not contain a charging brick.

    The back of the device, transparent, obviously attracts the eye. In particular, for this luminous symbol whose kinematics change to visually identify the person who is calling (according to the ringtone associated with it),

    How Much is the Nothing Phone 1?

    Officially launched this Tuesday, July 12, the smartphone will be available for sale from July 21 from 9 a.m. on nothing.Tech and Amazon. The Nothing Phone (1) will be available in the following configurations

    • 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage: 469 euros/ Ksh 55,717
    • 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage: 499 euros/ Ksh 59,295
    • 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage: 549 euros/ Ksh 65,236

    The smartphone will receive Android updates for three years and security patches every two months for four years. The Nothing Phone (1) is planned to last a few years. Obviously, by the time it enters our Local markets, the prices may vary a lot.
