Xiaomi yesterday unveiled the global version of the Redmi Note 11 series. This phone was first launched in China but the company has now unveiled it for the global audience.

In total, Xiaomi launched 4 new devices that include the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, the 4G variant, the Redmi Note 11S, and the Note 11. As expected, the phones have quite some similarities including OLED displays, 5,000 mAh batteries, dual speakers, side-mounted fingerprint scanners among others.

The note 11 series will be the successor to the note 10 series that we saw in Kenya last year.

Redmi Note 11 and Note 11S

The Redmi Note 11 is the base model and has a 6.43-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 108HZ touch sampling rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 680 processor that is paired with either 4 or 6GB of RAM. It is available in 64 or 128GB of storage space that can be expanded using a microSD card.

For the camera, we do get a quad setup at the back made up of a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, it has a 16MP front-facing camera.

It comes with Android 11 with MIUI 13 out of the box.

For the battery, it does come with a 5,000 mAh unit with support for 33W fast charging.

The Note 11S on the other hand comes with the same display but is powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 processor with either 6 or 8GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of internal storage space. It has a quad-camera setup at the back but this time it has a 108MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, it has a 16MP sensor.

The same 5,000 mAh battery is included and it still does support 33W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro is the flagship of the series just as the name suggests. It is available in 4G  and 5G variants with many similarities and some small differences in the processor and cameras.

The note 11 Pro has a bigger 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. This display has a 360Hz touch sampling rate.

The 5G variant is powered by the Snapdragon 695 processor while the 4G variant is powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 processor. Both variants have 6 or 8GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage space.

The 4G variant has a quad-camera setup made up of a 108MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The 5G variant has a triple camera setup and does not have a depth sensor. Both variants have 16MP front-facing shooters.

Just like the standard note 11, the note 11 Pro comes with a 5,000 mAh battery but this time supports 67W fast charging.

Redmi Note 11 Series in Kenya

The phones have just been launched but I do expect to see them in Kenya soon. If you are interested in buying a Xiaomi smartphone, the Xiaomi 11T Pro launched recently is a good phone that you can get from Jumia. I am currently reviewing it and should be done in about a week.
