5G implementation has a long way to go in Kenya but this has not stopped manufacturers from launching 5G capable devices in the market. We have seen a number of them and Infinix is joining this bandwagon soon.

Infinix has not officially confirmed the existence of this phone but it has surfaced online thanks to XDA developers. The site has shared real photos of the device showing us what to expect.  The photos show the back of the phone, camera placement and the glossy finish. They also show the display with the punch hole notch.

Infinix has two main flagship devices that this first 5G device might fall under, the Note series and the Zero series. I do expect it to be under the Zero series as the most recent Infinix Note device was launched just a couple of months back.

The Infinix Zero series is also its premium line and so it makes sense to be the first series to have 5G support.

From the photos, the phone appears to have an LCD display and a triple camera setup at the back. The Infinix Zero X had a very impressive camera setup and if this ends up being its successor, I am expecting an even better performance.

Some of the expected specifications of this phone have been shared and they are listed below:

    Infinix 5G Smartphone Rumoured Specifications

    • 6.6-inch display, 120Hz refresh rate.
    • MediaTek Dimensity 900 Processor
    • 8GB RAM.
    • 128GB / 256GB storage.
    • Android 12 with XOS.
    • 48MP main camera.
    • 16MP front facing camera.
    • 5000mAh battery.

    Infinix Zero 5G smartphone

From the specifications listed above, this looks like a very powerful phone. The processor is quite powerful and it does have enough RAM and storage space. I expect it to support RAM expansion that we saw on the Infinix Note 11 Pro.

I am looking forward to the launch of this phone and will update you on that if and when I get more information.
