Huawei has confirmed that it will be launching the nova 9 smartphone in Kenya in the coming weeks. The company did not share the exact date but said that this phone is one of the three products it plans to launch in Kenya this quarter. The nova 9 comes to kenya just a few weeks after the company unveiled the Huawei nova Y60 that you can get in Kenya for Ksh 23,000.

The Huawei nova 9 was unveiled last year and comes with a 6.57-inch OLED display. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 778G processor that has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space.

For the cameras, the Huawei nova 9 has a 50MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. A 32MP front facing camera is used for selfies. The nova 9 has a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.

“We are excited to announce that over and above having the above products in the first quarter, we will also be launching more products in the market as time goes by. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our ever growing customer base across the country for staying loyal to our brand and growing with us,” Said Jim Zhijue, Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head.

Besides the Huawei nova 9, the company will also be launching the Huawei GT3 smartwatch and the Huawei Matepad T series Kids edition.

The Huawei GT3 smartwatch is the successor to the GT2 smartwatch that has been on the market for over a year. According to Huawei, the GT3 smartwatch will come with advanced technologies to help provide comprehensive health monitoring features as well as introduce an intelligent dynamic adjustment plan and 100+ workout modes, including 18 professional workout modes, making it an industry-leading smartwatch.

The company is yet to reveal the official price of the Huawei GT3 smartwatch in Kenya or even the expected launch date.

The third product from the company we are expecting in Kenya is the Huawei MatePad T Series kids edition. This tablet is designed with children’s safety in mind. Coming with the tablets is Kids Corner, a safe virtual playground for children to enjoy the fruits of technology, all the while gating them from age-inappropriate content. But there’s more to it. Packed full of great technology that ensure a great user experience, the new tablets make for a great companion for your children even as they grow past the age of needing 24/7 parental supervision.

“The tech space took a rapid change 2 years ago when most people started working from home, there has been an increase in demand for products such as tablets that are easy to carry everywhere you go, not forgetting an increase in fitness activities by majority of Kenyans, that are either hiking, cycling, running or swimming, what a better way of keeping track of the activities they do with a smatchwatch that offers them all they require in the fitness space at the same time work from wherever and whenever with tablets. Last but not least we will also be introducing a smartphone in the nova series a midrange device that not only shares many cutting edge innovations, but also comes with attractive designs and colourways that set it apart from other smartphones,”  said Jim Zhijue.
