Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and Founder of Facebook wants to help creators – and himself – make more money. The CEO announced a slew of new features the company is working on to help Instagram creators grow their income.

The first will be a feature that connects brands to creators whose content fits their particular audience. Sponsorship deals already exist and have been one of the major ways for creators to make a quick buck. Facebook is simply bridging the gap between creators and brands – connecting them directly via a marketplace.

Instagram’s head Adam Mosseri says the goal is to be more involved in the process, helping brands discover emerging creators.

“We should be able to help brands find creators that are uniquely aligned with the work they’re trying to do and vice versa,” Mosseri said in an Instagram live with Zuckerberg – via CNBC.

Creator shops is the other new money-making feature for creators. It will allow Instagram creators to sell merchandise directly to their followers right inside the platform.

Creator shops is similar to Facebook and Instagram Shops, respective ecommerce features introduced last year on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook and Instagram Shops allow brands to sell directly to consumers on Facebook and Instagram, respectively.

Zuckerberg also announced an affiliate marketplace where Instagram creators can recommend products and get a cut from sales.

These features will enable more commerce to be done on the platform as more people shift to online shopping. Instagram introduced a dedicated tab for shopping last year, in the biggest UI revamp of the photo and video sharing app yet.

The new features are expected to roll out on Instagram in the future, but the two executives gave no definite date.
