If you were planning to grab the all-new Xbox Series S or X, you might be lucky to find one. Demand for new consoles is high, but the supply is limited. According to Xbox’s Chief Financial Officer, the company is yet to satisfy the huge demand for its new consoles. And it will be the case for at least the next few months.

“I think we’ll continue to see supply shortages as we head into the post-holiday quarter, so Microsoft’s Q3, calendar Q1,” said Tim Stuart, speaking at the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Virtual Conference.

In other words, the market will be undersupplied till at least April next year. He reveals that the company plans to crank up its supplies over the next 4, 5, 6 months.

“And that’s when I expect to see really that demand profile start to be met,” he added.

Stuart attributes the high demand for the new Xbox Series consoles to the explosion of gaming.

“… kids, adults, male, female, young, old, whatever it is, are games. And so that drives that demand profile, which we love to see.”

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has been vocal on its supply problems to meet the high demand. End of last month, Xbox boss Phil Spencer warned that demand for the Series X/S is expected to beat supply for at least the next few months.

Over at the PlayStation yard, things aren’t any better. We’re seeing ridiculous prices for new consoles, both the Xbox and PS5, from greedy traders trying to take advantage of the low supply.

Amazon has already sent several warnings to those who pre-ordered the new consoles that they may be delayed. Currently, finding an Xbox Series S/X or PS5 console listed on Amazon is a daunting task.
