Last night, Infinix announced the availability of the Note 8 and Note 8i smartphones in Kenya. These phones were unveiled to a global audience last week and they are finally available in stores in Kenya.

The Infinix Note 8i is available for Ksh 15,999 for the 4GB RAM variant that has 64GB of internal storage space and Ksh 17,499 for the 4GB RAM variant that has slightly bigger storage space of 128GB. The standard Infinix Note 8 on the other hand is available for Ksh 21,799 and this comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space.

The prices are reasonable and the availability of three different configurations to choose from at very different prices lets users choose the one they want at the price they are comfortable with. We all want options and that is what Infinix is offering.

The Infinix Note 8 is succeeding the Note 7 which was launched in Kenya just a few months back. Competition within the smartphone space in Kenya has been tough this year and manufacturers have to ensure they have new devices every so often if they are to compete effectively. This is what both Infinix and Tecno have been doing this year and it seems to be working for them.

I have been using the Infinix Note 8 for a few days and so far I like it. I did an unboxing post that you can check out below.

Infinix Note devices have always been known for their huge sizes and the Note 8 series is not any different. The phone has a massive 6.95-inch display whose resolution is unfortunately just 720p. As for the battery, the Note 8 comes with a 5,200 mAh unit that supports 18W fast charging. This is not that fast but at least it can save you sometime when charging compared to traditional charging speeds.

Some of the other key specifications of the Infinix Note 8 are listed below.

    • Display: 6.95-inch ; 720 x 1640 pixels
    • Chipset: Mediatek Helio G80
    • RAM: 6GB RAM
    • Storage: 128GB
    • Rear cameras: Quad:64MP + 2MP + 2MP + 2MP
    • Front camera: Dual: 16MP + 2MP
    • Battery: 5,200mAh

Infinix is offering 100 days of free screen replacement for those who buy the Note 8. We have seen itel, Infinix’s sister company, do this and this should help potential customers be assured that if something happens to the screen within the first 100 days, they can have that repaired for free. In addition to this, the Note 8 comes with 25-month warranty.
