The new iPhones are just around the corner, as Apple has finally pinned down a launch date. The event will take place on October 13th from Apple Park. However, you will be able to live stream the event from anywhere around the world to stay in the loop of the announcements. The event will kick off at 8:00 PM, East African Time.
This year’s event is a bit delayed relative to the usual September launch window. However, it was anticipated after long-time Apple analyst, Kuo, had warned, at the beginning of the year, that this year’s iPhones would be delayed. Although the company denied the fact at first, it swallowed its pride and admitted it in July.
The 2020 iPhones are expected to be the first iPhones with 5G support. Rumors have also suggested that the series will feature squared-off edges, like what we’ve seen in the recent iPad Pro.
iPhone 12 series, or whatever the company might call them, will ship in four variants. The modest iPhone will have a 5.4-inch display, and the largest will present 6.7-inches of screen real-estate, which, if true, will be the biggest iPhone yet.
In the launch event teaser, Apple opened the invitation with the phrase “Hi, Speed,” which is being associated with a smooth 120Hz display. The high display refresh rate is still alien to Apple’s smartphones but has become a common feature in the Android world(even Ksh 30,000 phones have slightly better 90Hz display).
But all of these rumors are still not yet confirmed and are to be treated as pure speculations. Let’s see what Apple has in store on the 13th of October.
