Xiaomi working on an App that lets you control your phone from a PC

Miui 12

Samsung and Microsoft’s intimate partnership gave birth to deeper integration between Windows PCs and Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S and Note series phones.

Huawei has its separate arrangement called Huawei Share, and now a report suggests Xiaomi is also coming on board with a similar solution.

XDA has spotted a new app called Device Control app in the latest MIUI 12 beta exclusively for Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. Device Control bridges the gap between your Xiaomi phone and a supported PC. Like Microsoft’s Your Phone app, you can control your phone using the Device Control app from your PC.

Device Control has a “screen combo” feature which casts your phone’s screen to your PC via WIFI. The app lets you do a couple of things that can be done using Your Phone app as well, like drag-and-drop file transfer.

You can also open multiple windows of the broadcast, which, in theory, should allow you to open multiple apps.

The app is still in beta, and XDA reports that, as of now, it only works on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and the Mi Notebook Pro 15 2020 laptop. The app may reportedly graduate from beta in October, but an official introduction is coming earlier – next month.
