OPPO A53 Officially Announced Sporting a 90Hz display, 6GB of RAM and Triple camera setup

oppo a53 launch official

OPPO A53 has been officially unveiled. The phone succeeds OPPO A52 that is currently available in Kenya. As expected, the phone presents several improvements over OPPO A52.

The main pitch is the 90Hz display, a 5,000mAh battery and an 18W fast-charging brick. As often to most mid-range OPPO devices, OPPO A53 has dual stereo speakers tuned by Dirac.

At the back is a rectangular camera bump housing three different camera lenses. Leading the pack is a 13MP main camera with up to 6x digital zoom and can snap 4K videos.

The other two cameras have 2MP lenses, one for adding depth on photos and the other one for shooting macro pictures. On the front is a 16MP lens with AI enhancement support and portrait bokeh effects.

Compared to OPPO A52, we anticipate performance improvements on this device, thanks to the Snapdragon 460 processor announced earlier this year.

About the display; it’s a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 269PPI, 90Hz refresh rate, up to 120Hz touch sampling rate for better sensitivity and is made of LCD. The screen to body ratio is 89.2 per cent.

Moving to the memory department, OPPO A53 is available in two configurations. The base configuration offers 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage while the slightly powerful variant stocks 6GB of memory and 128GB of ROM.

OPPO A53 has a microSD card slot that can hold up to 256GB of storage separately. There are also four colours to choose from; Fairy White, Electric Black and Fancy Blue.

Indian pricing for the phone starts at about Ksh 22,000. The phone will battle realme’s recently announced realme 6 in Kenya – the first phone with a 90Hz display under 30,000. It’s not clear when OPPO A53 will be officially launched in Kenya.
