Up to this point, every tech company is chasing the booming work from home industry induced by the coronavirus pandemic. Google wants Gmail to be your new home for work, Microsoft, too and now Zoom is not leaving any chance for potential growth.
Zoom is expanding to the hardware market now that’s it has a controlling share of the video conferencing industry in terms of software. Zoom has just launched a new 27-inch touchscreen device aimed at helping remote workers in partnership with DTEN. The device is called Zoom For Home — DTEN ME.
It hopes to replace your laptop, which, for no doubt, has a not-so good webcam, with a more versatile camera and several microphones with a capability to cut some background noise.

Zoom’s 27-inch video hardware sports three wide-angle cameras and eight noise-reducing microphones built in.
To make it personalized, it comes pre-installed with Zoom, built in a special way to access the platform’s top features. It sure doesn’t have to replace your laptop or smartphone, but is aimed at work from home workers who just want a dedicated device for video conferencing that’s ready to go with minimal fuss.
Zoom plans to launch two more devices with new partners. It also seems the company plans to continue launching such devices in the future. Jeff Smith, head of Zoom Rooms, told TechCrunch that the company could add more partners in the future.
For now, there’s only one device, the Zoom For Home — DTEN ME which will cost $599 at launch. It will go on sale in August.
