Vivo has finally unveiled its latest smartphone in Kenya. The vivo V19 is available on pre-order for Ksh 40,999, right around the same price its predecessor, the vivo V17 Pro was retailing at.

Those who wish to pre-order the phone can do so at vivo outlets across the country from now all the way through to 2nd July 2020 when the phone will be available to buy. This will be sort of vivo’s flagship for Kenya in 2020. It does come with some really good specifications that make it worth looking at if you want a smartphone within this price range.

“vivo is committed to innovating with the consumer in mind, and the V19 reflects our deep understanding of consumers’ needs. With industry-leading selfie technology, a beautiful design, and strong performance, V19 is perfect for young consumers who care about the camera and entertainment features,” said Arthur Xian, vivo Kenya CEO.

    Vivo V19 Specifications

Just as it has been the case with other vivo V series devices, the key highlight of the V19 is its camera. It comes with a quad camera setup at the back made up of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP super wide-angle camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP Bokeh camera. For selfies it has a dual setup of 32MP and 8MP.

According to vivo, the 32MP selfie camera can capture clear and detailed selfies in different lighting conditions while the 8MP super wide-angle one helps to broaden your “selfie perspective by 25.6 degrees with a built-in AI algorithm that can independently correct wide-angle distortion between foreground and background for authentic and dazzling shots.” The phone also has a Super Night Mode option for the front camera.

“V19 is a trendsetting smartphone built to complement young consumers’ lifestyles. Uniquely designed with a dual front camera that offers significant advantages for selfie lovers over other smartphones in its class, V19 is a breakthrough for the Kenyan market,” added Arthur Xian.

For the display, the vivo V19 has a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Vivo says this display supports HDR 10 standard and that the phone has a Dual iView display to help optimize the viewing experience. Under the display is an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Powering the vivo V19 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W vivo FlashCharge 2.0 technology. This according to the company can charge from 0 to 70 per cent in about 40 minutes. The V19 also has the Copper Tube Liquid Cooling Technology to help keep it cool.

The vivo V19 in Kenya will be available in two colours of Gleam Black and Sleek Silver.
