Microsoft has started rolling out the stable Chromium-based Edge to all Windows 10 users via Windows update. The company began rolling out Chromium-based Edge in January, but Windows 10 users had to manually download it by themselves.

With the new changes, all of Windows 10 users can receive the new and improved Edge which is based on the Chromium code. This means greater compatibility with extensions and websites across the board – just like Google Chrome.

“Additionally, this new version provides great support for the latest rendering capabilities, modern web applications, and powerful developer tools across all supported OS platforms,” says Microsoft.

Chromium-based Edge will replace the pre-installed Edge browser which has been Microsoft’s default Windows 10 browser since the beginning.

By being the default browser, you won’t be able to uninstall Edge just like you wouldn’t it the old Edge browser. The new Edge is available to Windows 10 users running at least version 1803, according to Microsoft.

Along with the wide rollout, the company also updated Edge to fix a bunch of flaws.
