Google’s video platform YouTube is finally availing Chapters a new feature aimed at easing navigation within videos. Announcing the availability of the feature, the platform took it on Twitter confirming that Video Chapters are here to stay starting May 28th.
We first got wind of the trials in February, and YouTube has been testing the feature till yesterday. Now that its been rolled out, Chapters are available on YouTube across the web, Android and iOS.
Chapters ease the YouTube navigation hassle by giving you an easy way to jump to the exact topic discussed in the video. Creators will be able to add Chapters to their videos by adding timestamps starting at 0:00 to the video description.
For viewers, using Chapters is pretty easy – scrub to find exactly what you’re looking for. YouTube will show you the various topics discussed in the video and you will be able to jump to the exact sections.
