Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is quite reputable for its powerful devices that are cheaply priced. The newest addition to its Redmi Note series is the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Both phones have large 5020 mAh batteries with fast charge support, 6.67in FHD+ displays with Gorilla Glass 5 layered on top for protection.

The two are also identical under the hood, both running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset with Adreno 618 GPU.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is the face of the series now with a 64 MP wide lens, 8 MP ultrawide lens, 2 MP lens for macro shots and another 2MP lens for depth sensing.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48MP lens instead of the 64MP one, while retaining the other three lenses.

For selfies, the Pro Max has a 32MP lens, and a 16MP is on the Pro model.

The series comes with other perks seen in previous Redmi Note phones like fingerprint sensor, USB Type C port with reversible charging, and variable storage models depending on your preference.

The pricing is aggressive as usual, with the cheapest model (4/64GB) going for about Ksh 17,900 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The other 6GB/128GB model is priced at around Ksh 22,000.

Similarly, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max goes for about Ksh 20,500 for the 6GB/64GB model, Ksh 23,500 for the 6GB/128GB model and Ksh 26,200 to get the 8GB/128GB option. These prices have been converted directly using the current exchange rate; local prices may vary.

Besides, Xiaomi Kenya might choose to bring a few memory options as they did with the previous generation devices – Redmi Note 8 series.
