Huawei is getting to ready to launch yet another smartphone in the Kenya market. The company is planning to launch the Huawei Y6s that is in the entry level category and most probably succeeds the Huawei Y6 Prime 2019.

The Huawei Y6s will be available as from March 4th in retail stores across the country. Before that, you will be able to pre-order it from February 24 all through to March 3rd. The price of the phone has not been revealed yet but that will be happening soon. The company is currently running a price guessing competition for those who feel confident that they can correctly guess the price and stand a chance of winning gift hampers from the company.

The Huawei Y6s will be an entry level smartphone and its price should be right around where the Y6 Prime 2019’s was when it was launched.

The Huawei Y6s was unveiled globally last month and Huawei seems very eager to bring it to Kenya. We have not seen much activity in the entry level market segment in Kenya this year and Huawei hopes to capitalize on that. Some of the main players in this category including Tecno and Infinix have not unveiled new smartphones for 2020 yet. This may be the chance for Huawei to shine.

“We are excited to introduce another device in the Y series family under the entry level category. As part of our strategy to dominate the market we are focusing on bringing devices that have better specifications at an affordable rate and Huawei Y6s is among the entry level game changers,” said Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head, Jim.

Anyone who pre-orders the Huawei Y9s will get a gift hamper worth Ksh 1,000 from Huawei.

I will be unboxing the Huawei Y6s tomorrow so watch out for that.
