Samsung has today announced that it has fully acquired TeleWorld Solutions, a Virginia-based telecommunications company that deals with wireless networking and consulting services.

The company specializes in network design, testing, and optimization services to both mobile service and cable operators, as well as equipment OEMs. Although the company deals in a variety of things, Samsung’s primary interest lies in 5G.

“The acquisition of TWS will enable us to meet mobile carriers’ growing needs for improving their 4G and 5G networks, and eventually create new opportunities to enhance our service capabilities to our customers,” said Paul Kyungwhoon Cheun, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung says the company will continue its operations as “a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics America, Inc.” TeleWorld will continue to carry out its operations as usual, including serving its existing customers with consultancy services. The leadership team a TWS will also be maintained, as a result.

Samsung has recorded some massive growth in its networking business in the US. In 2019, the company partnered with major U.S telcos to expand 5G networks across the country. As a result, the company is in dire need of ways in which it can be able to meet the country’s 5G network expansion requirements. Its new subsidiary will apparently help them address the issue.

“Everyone at TeleWorld Solutions is excited to be part of the Samsung family,” said Shervin Gerami, CEO of TeleWorld Solutions.

“Joining forces with Samsung will accelerate innovation to help our customers fulfill their needs for network strategy, deployment, and automation,” he added.
