After a ton of rumors and leaks on Vivo’s NEX 3 flagship phone, the phone has officially been announced. Vivo NEX 3 features a circular camera bump on the back just like Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro but packing only three cameras. The NEX 3 primary camera is Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor paired with a 13MP wide-angle shooter and a 13MP telephoto camera.

For selfies, the device depends on a 16MP snapper.

But its not just about the cameras, the Vivo NEX 3 packs the real edge to edge display “waterfall-like” which, as a result, leaves no room for the inclusion of physical buttons on the side panel. Instead of physical buttons, you get a Touch Sense that works similar to physical buttons but stands out with the inclusion of a “more exquisite vibration feedback in various use cases.”

The display is a 6.89-inch 1080p AMOLED one with a screen-to-body ratio of 99.6% as Vivo’s manager had confirmed earlier. And as usual, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, you get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus, overclocked CPU supported with either 8 or 12 GB RAM with an internal storage of 256GB. The device depends on a 4,500 mAh battery which supports up to 44W fast charging technology.

The Vivo NEX 3 is also 5G ready, but for the markets with no hopes for 5G yet, there is also a 4G variant that costs about $100 less. The Vivo NEX 3 price starts at around $710, roughly Ksh 71,000 (8 GB RAM, 128 GB), while the 5G variant will set you back $810 roughly Ksh 81,000 (8GB RAM, 256GB)

Vivo says the phone will be “available in the coming months in Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia, and other markets.”
