Back in June, WhatsApp was cracking on users who relied on Modified versions of the app. Although developers of the mods patched things up to mask their users from being detected, the good fight seems to be doomed in the end –to say the least.
Recently, developers of the popular WhatsApp mod GBWhatsApp have stated that they will be shutting down. Breaking the news on the official telegram channel, the developers behind GB WhatsApp announced that they had stopped further developments on the app. Besides all the social media accounts, website, and everything else related to the project has also been shut down.
“We are really sorry to announce that we have completely stopped the development of GBWhatsApp. It was a great time with all you people. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hence we have Closed all the Site, Social Accounts, and everything. There will be no further development.” Stated a post in their Telegram channel.
But that should not be surprising at all, given that Facebook had already started warning users who used WhatsApp Mods. If you still have to use Mods, other mods like WhatsApp Plus are still up and running, but we will see how those handle the current crackdown also.
