The Itel S13 is the latest Android Go smartphone to be launched in Kenya. The phone is available in retail stores for Ksh 7,500 making it one of the cheapest Android Go smartphones in Kenya. For those in the dark, Android Go is a tweaked version of Android meant for devices with between 512MB and 1GB of RAM. One of the main reasons why Android Go exists is to ensure those with cheaper devices can still have a good experience.

The Itel S13 joins the Itel A32F, another Android Go smartphone from the company. From the look of things, Itel may just end up being a key player in the Android Go space. The company has added two Android Go smartphones in just under a year. With Android Go, the company can ensure those who buy its smartphones can still have a good experience.

The Itel S13 is an entry-level smartphone but it comes with an impressive 13MP selfie camera. This camera comes with Face Beauty 2.0 to make sure your selfies are polished, not something everyone likes. We do not get to see that many 13MP selfie cameras in smartphones under Ksh 8,000 so this is commendable. At the back, we get a dual camera set up of 5MP sensors.

Just like most smartphones in 2018, the Itel S13 comes with a Full View display. The display size is 5.5 inches with a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels. Powering the Itel S13 is a 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. There is a MicroSD card slot that can expand this space to 32GB.

Below are some of the other specifications of the Itel S13

    Display Size: 5.5 inches with a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels

    Processor: 1.3 GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor

    GPU: Mali-T720

Android Version: Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition)

    Connectivity: 2G/3G

Camera: Dual 5 MP + 5 MP  Camera at the back with a 13 MP front-facing one

    Biometric: Fingerprint scanner

    Battery: 2400 mAh removable battery

    Android Go in Kenya

As I have mentioned above, the Itel S13 is not the first Android Go smartphone from the company. There is the Itel A32f launched earlier this year.

Itel is not the only manufacturer with Android Go smartphones in Kenya. Safaricom even has the Neon Kicka 4 which is the cheapest Android Go smartphone is Kenya available for Ksh 3,499. There are a few others which you can check out below.
