The current line of Nokia smartphones that were introduced earlier this year consist of devices in the mid-range segment and above. Even though we do not have a true flagship in the current series, the devices that HMD Global released earlier this year are not that cheap compared to what we get from the many Chinese manufacturers around.

For HMD Global, ignoring the entry level segment is not something it plans to do anytime soon. The company which owns the rights to the Nokia name plans to introduce an entry level Nokia smartphone very soon. The smartphone will probably be called the Nokia 2 and has already been seen on Geekbench spotting a Snapdragon 210 processor. This is an entry level chipset and that is why we have come to the conclusion that this device will be an entry level one.

Besides the processor, the Geekbench listing also reveals that the Nokia 2 will have 1GB. It will come with Android 7 straight out of the box and even though the storage space capacity was not detected, it will probably be 8GB. These specs are not the most appealing ones but keep in mind that this is meant to be an entry level smartphone with the Nokia branding, we haven’t seen those around for years.

This latest leak confirms a few things we saw a few days back about the Nokia 2. The leak that surfaced online a couple of days back also showed an illustration of what it revealed was of the Nokia 2. Check it out below.

From the above illustration, the Nokia 2 does not look that bad. I will be interested in seeing the final product and what it has to offer.
