This is the final developer preview before Android O is released to the public next month. We still do not have the exact name for Android O, all we know so far is it will be Android 8.0.0. With the release of the final Developer preview, we expect the final release of Android O sometime next month.

This final Android O Developer preview release comes with all the final system behaviours, the final developer APIs and all the latest bug fixes and optimizations. With this release, app developers can take the opportunity to test their apps against the upcoming iteration of Android to ensure they are ready when it is released to the public.

You can give this build a test run to get a sense of some of the features that will be available on Android O. You Can enrol your device to be part of the Android Beta Program as long as it is compatible. At the moment, the devices that can run Android O include the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, and Nexus Player.

If you are part of the beta program, you should be ready for the final Developer Preview anytime in the next couple of days. This update will be rolled out Over-the-air or you can choose to manually flash the new system images on your own.
