Huawei Honor 8

The Honor 8 is the latest flagship device from Huawei’s Honor sub-brand. The phone was launched back in July this year (about 2 months ago) and Huawei is revealing that 1.5 million units so far. This is an impressive figure given that the phone is not available in all markets. The company just recently started selling the phone in Europe and the US which is a change is strategy as it previously sold Honor devices in Asia and not in western markets.

The Huawei Honor series has been around for close to 3 years (999 days to be exact) and was launched to target the low end market segment with devices that come with decent specs. Most of the Honor devices of the past have been sold in Asia and only recently has the company expressed interest to expand to other markets.

Since the Honor sub-brand was launched, Huawei has managed to sell over 100 million units in the markets the devices have been available. This means that the company sells an average of 33 million Honor devices every year, not bad at all. With expansion to the western markets, that figure may just go up in the future.
