Early this month, LG started rolling out its latest Android update, 6.0 Marshmallow, to the LG G4 in its home country of South Korea. It looks like this update is running smoothly on the company’s flagship device as LG has started updating some of its devices in Europe.
LG has already pushed out the latest build of Google’s open source OS to users in Poland and now is expanding to even more people.
This update is not sent Over The Air (OTA) as most people had expected. It requires the use of LG Bridge meaning that you have to connect your phone with your PC to get the update. The update is already available to users in Portugal, Poland, Romania, Germany, Turkey, U.K., Croatia, Hungary and Switzerland.
The Android Marshmallow update is 1.55GB in size and brings a ton of new features that include battery optimization to reduce battery consumption. The battery is optimized automatically when you do not use your phone or apps for a certain period of time. This will be stopped automatically when you start using your phone again.
Knock Code has also been updated and now has 6 taps using at least three of the quarters. App permissions have also been updated and you can now allow or deny permissions on a feature-by-feature basis. Direct share (which shows you a recommendation of people you may want to share with), silent mode has been added to the sound profile, Auto-brightness, Allow peeking among other features.
As said above, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has just started rolling out to the LG G4 in Europe and you should expect it in the next few weeks, probably before the end of the year or early next year.
