Samsung has been the top smartphone manufacturers for a while and this is not going to stop anytime soon. Yesterday, we got the latest data that showed just how big Samsung is in the smartphone market compared to other manufactures.

The latest data comes from IDC and shows that Samsung was the top manufacturers in terms of both number of devices shipped and market share. This data was collected for the three month period of Q3 2015.

According to IDC, Samsung managed to ship over 84.5 million units during this period. This is 6.1% higher than what the company managed to ship during the same period last year. Keep in mind that these are the number of smartphones shipped and not necessarily sold.

As for market share, Samsung controls 23.8% of the market. Samsung has made some very good devices this year so am not surprised with these figures.

Following Samsung closely is Apple which managed to ship over 48 million iPhones during Q3 of 2015, almost half what Samsung shipped. As for market dominance, Apple has 13.5% market share.

Third on the list is Huawei which shipped 26.5 million units during Q3 of 2015. This represents an increase of 60.9% from the same time last year. Huawei’s market share also rose to 7.5%.
