From the images, the BlackBerry Priv looks good. The images are just confirmation of what we have seen about the phone from the leaks that have been circulating online the past few weeks.

Commenting on this smartphone, the company’s CEO said, “First, the company will launch a flagship slider device, Priv, which will run on the Android operating system, bringing together the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform. In combination with BlackBerry’s efforts to support Android for Work on the BES12 platform, the new device will offer best in class security for enterprise customers. BlackBerry expects the device to be available late in the calendar year in major markets in-store and online, and will release further details in the coming weeks.”

Are you excited about the BlackBerry Priv? Will you be getting it? I might get it if it’s reasonably priced.

BlackBerry and Android

So the question everyone is asking right now is, what is the future of BlackBerry’s OS (BB 10)? Will the company ditch this for Android? This is still unknown but the company will definitely make some changes in the future. The company has promised to support all BB 10 devices with new updates but did not say much about upcoming BlackBerry devices running on its own OS. Of course things can change anytime so we cannot conclude anything at the moment.
