Earlier today, I told you about Sony’s plans to unveil its latest flagship later today. Well, the company has just announced the Xperia Z5 which is one of the three devices it has been working on for a while. From the specs that you will see in a little bit, the Xperia Z5 is truly a premium smartphone that gets things right.

The Sony Xperia Z5 has been announced at IFA 2015 in Berlin and is one of the smartphones people in tech circles are talking about right now.

Awesome Design

The phone has Sony’s OmniBalance design that differentiates them from other smartphones on the market. It has a metal frame with slightly rounded edges that gives it a sleek appearance. Sony has always gotten it right in the design department and the Xperia Z5 is not any different.

The Xperia Z5 has a dedicated camera shutter key on the right side. Also on the right side is the power button and volume keys. The power button has an embedded fingerprint scanner.

Premium Specs

The Xperia Z5 has some amazing specs that start with the 5.2 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 423 ppi. Powering this device is a 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. As you can see, Sony has brought out all the big guns on this smartphone.

As for the memory, the Xperia Z5 has 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage space both of which are enough if you ask me. If the 32GB is not enough for you, there is a MicroSD card slot available.

At the back sits a 23MP camera with the company’s own Exmor RS sensor with a 5MP camera at the front. The front facing camera has a wide angle lens so you are sure you will fit more people in your selfies. Sony says that this camera comes with the world’s fastest 0.03s autofocus. It also has 5x Clear Image Zoom and can record 4K videos.

The Xperia Z5 will come with Android 5.1 out of the box with the Xperia UI on top. It will have a 2,900 mAh battery that Sony says can last for up to 2 days.

Sony has not announced when the phone will be available in retail stores or even its price but be sure we will update you on this as time goes by.
