Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular and most downloaded messaging apps out there. The main reason for this is because Facebook forced its users on mobile apps to download this app if they were to be able to send messages to their friends. This was received with some complaining from users but in the end they just adapted to it.

Things are looking really good for the Messenger app and Facebook wants to grow it even further saying that users do not need Facebook accounts to use it. The company said that it has just started rolling out this to select markets with others following thereafter.

Those who access Messenger from either their phones, tablets or via the Web will have the option of signing in through Facebook and if they do not have Facebook accounts, they will still be able to sign in. Those with no Facebook accounts will have the option of uploading their contacts through the app for it to match and show you some of your contacts who are using Messenger.

Making Messenger are sort of an independent app is quite appealing for those with no Facebook accounts as they will still be able to send photos, videos, participate in group chats, voice calling and send stickers with much ease.

There are some disadvantages to not having a Facebook account though. To start with, you will not be able to sync across tablets, phones and web meaning that you will have problems accessing your messages in different devices.

This update will take time to roll out fully so be patient and give it time.
