Google has fully embraced material design and recently, the company gave its website a Material Design overhaul. Not much is known about material design especially if you ask a person who is not a designer/developer.
To make it easier for people to understand, Google has released a new video to explain what material design is all about. From the video, those involved with the development of material design try to explain to us the process they took before it became final. You will clearly see that this was not an easy process for them.
Even with the process of getting, material design to us being tough, they managed to simplify it and make it appealing to the eye and still highly functional. Material design is not yet finished and the designers are willing to give it room to grow and develop organically for the better.
Matias Duarte, VP of design at Google says, “To constantly be evaluating itself, and to constantly be thinking about what is no longer relevant, what was universal and it turned out to be a fad or simply the wrong emphasis.”
