Just a few weeks ago, Microsoft officially introduced Windows 10 for phones to the world. With this release, we were all expecting only devices with 1GB of RAM or higher to get Windows 10. Well, it looks like we were wrong as Microsoft through its Corporate VP, Joe Belfiore, has announced that older entry level models with 512MB Of RAM will also be getting Windows 10.

In a tweet, Joe Belfiore said:

This is quite some good news as it will include the Lumia 520 which was the best selling Windows Phone Smartphone in many countries including Kenya. In Kenya, the Lumia was among the top 5 best selling Smartphones in 2013/2014.

Form Joe’s tweet, it is clear that for the devices with 512MB of RAM, the Windows 10 feature they get may vary and will be availed at different times.

Even though the Windows 10 features on these devices may vary, it is still a positive move for Microsoft.

Belier went ahead to reveal that the Insider build of Windows 10 for Phones is still on track and will arrive later this month.
