Meizu Unveils a New Smartphone Powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5430 Chipset

Meizu is a leading Smartphone manufacturer in china with a very huge customer base in Asia. The company’s products have not reached Kenya yet, but I hope this will change soon.

The company has introduced its new Smartphone, the Meizu MX4 Pro, powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5430 chipset. Using this chipset from Samsung is a very big step for Meizu as it plans to compete head on with other global Smartphone manufacturers. The Meizu MX4 Pro has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1536 pixels and a pixel density of 542ppi. This display is made by Sharp Electronics. Below the screen at the home button is a fingerprint scanner protected by Sapphire glass.

Under the frame, the Meizu MX4 Pro has the Exynos 5430 chipset from Samsung coupled with a quad-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 CPU. It has 3GB of RAM and varying memory sizes of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Unfortunately, there is no MicroSD card slot.

The Meizu MX4 Pro has a 20.7MP camera (with dual LED flash) made by Sony so you know the image quality is high. The front facing camera is also impressive at 5MP with OmniVision OV5693 sensor.

In terms of connectivity, you will be getting all the latest features on the Meizu MX4 Pro. These include Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, LTE and NFC.

Powering the device is Flyme 4.0 which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat. This Smartphone will retail at $410 (approximately Kshs 37,000 before tax.
