If you recently tried to find the Nokia camera app in the Windows Phone store, you may have noticed it was not there. This is after Microsoft removed it without warning leaving people to speculate about its intentions. In the end Microsoft did not have any bad intentions as the app is back with a new name, the “Lumia Camera.”
This Lumia camera app has no new features and this was all just about re-branding, something that has been happening to Nokia lately after the acquisition of its mobile division by Microsoft. Microsoft has said that it will use the Nokia name up until 2016. For the upcoming Smartphones, Microsoft will drop the Nokia name and go with Microsoft Lumia.

The Lumia camera gives you more control allowing you to change quite a number of settings on your rear camera to take better photos. This app works with the rear camera only for devices running Windows Phone 8 or higher.
In addition to the main Lumia camera app, there is also the Lumia Camera classic app which is basically the Nokia Camera beta.
