The Asus ZenWatch is finally out

For sometime now, we have known that Asus has been busy working on a Smartwatch it refers to as the ZenWatch. The news surrounding the ZenWatch suggested that it would be unveiled on September 3rd (today) and Asus did not disappoint. The company has just announced the ZenWatch at the IFA in Berlin.

The ZenWatch is pretty good looking considering most smartwatches we have seen in the market so far look more like toys rather that serious gadgets. The frame is curved and is made using stainless steel to give it the ultimate watch design. The specs it has are also not that disappointing.

To start with the screen, the Asus ZenWatch has a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. Under the frame it has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. At the back sits a 1.4Wh battery.

A heart rate monitor is also included in the Asus ZenWatch to help you gather your health data.

Availability will be from late this month and early next month at a not so economical price (am not complaining) of $260 roughly Kshs. 23,000 minus taxes.
