Samsung Kenya has today officially launched the new generation galaxy tab s in the country. We told you about this upcoming launch yesterday, to read more of that click here.

In an event held at the Sarova Stanley hotel, Samsung unveiled both the 8.4 and 10.5-inch variants. The Tab S is a new premium line of tablets from Samsung unveiled in June this year.

The 8.4 and 10.5-inch variants will have a lot of similarities. These will include SuperAMOLED screens with resolutions of 2560×1600 pixels. Their pixel densities will of course vary with the 8.4 inch variant having a 359ppi while the 10.5 inch variant having 288ppi. Samsung also said that the Tab S devices supporting LTE connectivity will be available in Kenya even though no operator supports LTE. This may be more relevant to those who travel out of the country regularly to markets that support LTE.

Under the frame, the Tab S has an Exynos 5 Octa core processor (1.9 GHz quad-core + 1.3 GHz quad-core) with speeds of up to 2.3 GHz. This will be coupled with 3GB of RAM to ensure no sluggishness when using the device. The Tab S will be available in either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded using a microSD card.

The camera at the back will be an 8MP one while at the front is 2.1 MP one.

The retail price for the 8.4-inch variant will be Kshs. 55,999 while for the 10.5 inch variant will be Kshs 74,999.
