Microsoft announced the Lumia 530 late last month as a device that is supposed to replace the ever-successful Lumia 520. The device is targeting the emerging markets and started its journey in China and now it’s in India. The Lumia 530 stands out as the cheapest Windows Phone device from Microsoft and comes a few months after Microsoft stopped production of the cheaper Nokia X devices running Android.

The single SIM Lumia 530 will retail at 7199 rupees (Kshs. 10,368) while the dual SIM variant will go for 7349 rupees (Kshs. 10,584). Launching the Lumia 530 in India and China is the first step of getting the device to other markets such as Kenya.

The Lumia 530 has a 4 inch LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, this translates to the pixel density of 245ppi. Under the hood, there is a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 CPU with 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot capable of expanding the storage space to up to 128GB.

At the back of the Lumia 530 will be a 5MP camera without auto focus or flash. There is also a smaller 1430mAh battery. This device will come in White, Dark Grey, Orange and Green.
