For some time now, we have been pretty sure that Apple was going to unveil 2 iPhones at its annual event later this year. Apple has always used this event to announce the next Smartphone in its line and this year was no different. The only difference that we expected is for Apple to come out with 2 variants, a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6. This move by Apple was meant to sway customers away from the bigger-screened Android devices on the market.

Even though Apple is working on the two variants, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may not be coming out soon according to the Business Insider. This of course is good news to Samsung as it will be able to maintain its status as the leader in the phablet market with the Galaxy Note devices.

The reason for the delay on the larger iPhone 6 is because the manufacturing process behind 5.5-inch sapphire coated screens is very complicated due to touch-sensitivity issues near the corners of the screen. This is why we have seen so many leaked photos of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and very few for the 5.5-inch variant.
