Temple run is no doubt one of the most popular games currently. This fact has been confirmed by its makers, Imangi Studios who say that the game has seen over 1 billion downloads so far. These are amazing figures considering that the first edition of Temple run was launched a few years ago in 2011.
Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios said, “Having Temple Run reach the one billion downloads mark is a milestone we couldn’t have imagined when we first started out. We’re incredibly grateful to all the Temple Run players and our wonderful team. We look forward to continuing to grow the Temple Run franchise, as well as creating additional innovative games.”
Imangi Studios went further to break down the numbers for us. The numbers reveal that an impressive 36% of downloads were from users in China with the US coming in at a distant second with 21% of all downloads. The company also stated that 60% of all players are female.
The total meters covered by all players currently stands at 50 trillion while the total deaths are 32 Billion. The top 3 ways to die are falling, collision and being captured by the Monkey.
