Windows Phone 8.1 is coming out soon and one of the biggest additions we expect is Cortana. If you are not aware Cortana is don’t worry, you are not alone. Cortana is a digital personal assistant for Windows Phone 8.1 just like Siri for iOS and Google Now for Android.

Nothing about this supposed digital personal assistant has been confirmed officially by Microsoft so any information available now is treated as a rumour. Yesterday we shared with you the screenshots of Cortana showing some of its key features and today we will share a hands on video demonstration showcasing the same.

The video published on YouTube shows the setup process which requires a Microsoft account to function. Cortana will be fully activated after a number of questions and will allow you to set your nickname that the assistant will use to speak to you.

Some examples of the questions include, “What are a couple of the most enjoyable parts of your everyday evenings?” and “When you think about food, what’s most important to you these days?” the answers you give will be stored in the Notebook after which the voice and search functions are activated.
