These days, super sized smartphones are considered a normal phenomenon and their popularity keeps increasing by the day. Just recently, Samsung unveiled two new supersized smartphones, the 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega and the 5.8-inch Galaxy Mega. The Phablet market is currently controlled by as Huawei, ZTE and Samsung and Nokia hopes to disrupt this status quo by introducing their own super sized smartphone into the market.

According to a report by the Financial Times, Nokia is working on a big-screened handset that is mainly built to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Note franchise. The report also stated that this new device will fall under the company’s Lumia family and is believed to have more technically advanced features when compared to the Galaxy Note.

At this point, Nokia has not confirmed this rumor so the features, release date and price for this device are still unknown.

If Nokia goes ahead and unveils this device, it would be interesting to see how it competes with some of the well-established Phablets in the market given that it would probably run Windows Phone 8.
