Founded in 2021, Triply has developed a travel operating system designed to replace the fragmented spreadsheets, messaging apps, booking tools and payment processes that many operators rely on. The platform brings together quotations and AI powered itinerary builders, an easier customized sales hub, affordable flights and hotels booking, payment collections, wallets, supplier payments and operational oversight.

Triply currently supports over 500 travel businesses across East Africa, providing technology solutions that simplify daily operations, streamline bookings and payments, and help travel businesses operate more efficiently. Through its integrated platform, Triply is helping travel businesses embrace digital solutions and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Triply’s approach has attracted recognition within Africa’s travel industry. In 2026, its CEO Peter Wachira received the Best Innovation Using Technology award at the Pyne Awards Africa for innovation associated with Triply. The category also featured leaders from across the region’s travel, payments and hospitality sectors, including Tannaz Bahnam of Awari, Bayo Adedeji of Wakanow Group, Agosta Liko of Pesapal and Håvar Bauck of Hotel Online reflecting the breadth of innovation shaping the industry.

Triply’s achievements also include winning the Tourism category at the Africa Sustainable Futures Awards 2025, recognising its contribution to a more connected, inclusive and sustainable African travel ecosystem. In 2024, The Africa Report also named Triply among its 20 Champions of African Tech, highlighting the company’s contribution to Africa’s growing technology ecosystem.

The recognition comes as Triply expands its engagement with industry regulators and travel businesses to support the practical adoption of technology.

In August 2026, Triply worked with the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) to train travel agents at the Coast on using its platform and digital tools to support their daily operations and customer service.

The company is also working to address the financial complexity of travel operations. Tour operators and agencies must often manage international customer payments, supplier settlements, foreign exchange and reconciliation across several different systems by allowing them to settle payments instantly thereby enabling the travel ecosystem to become more robust and grow extensively.

Peter Wachira, CEO of Triply, said “Running a travel business involves much more than taking a booking. Operators need to prepare quotes, secure flights and accommodation, manage customers and move money reliably, often across borders. We built Triply to make those processes work together so businesses can spend less time switching between systems and more time serving traveller’s.”

“The recognition we have received is encouraging, but what matters most is whether this technology makes a real difference to the businesses using it. We see a major opportunity to help African travel companies operate with greater confidence, efficiency and room to grow.”

In May 2026, Triply partnered with Choice Microfinance Bank to expand access to banking services and payment infrastructure for the travel sector. The partnership supports customer collections, payment visibility, reconciliation and supplier transactions for businesses using Triply.

The company says this combination of travel operations technology and financial infrastructure is intended to give agencies and tour operators a clearer view of their businesses and reduce the effort involved in managing multiple tools.

Before Triply, Virtue Explorers struggled to manage a high volume of daily enquiries across spreadsheets and disconnected systems, making lead tracking and follow-ups difficult. With Triply, they now manage leads, create AI-powered itineraries, collect payments and book flights from one platform. The result: a 40% reduction in lead drop-off, faster turnaround times, and access to virtual cards that reduce international payment costs by over 50%.

But efficiency is only part of the equation. Travel businesses also face the risk of chargebacks, where customers dispute payments for services that have already been paid for or delivered, potentially leaving businesses out of pocket. Tulivu Holidays experienced this risk firsthand, with US$8,000 at stake. Triply’s payment security technology helped protect those funds, demonstrating how the platform helps travel businesses not only operate more efficiently, but also safeguard their revenue.

Today, Triply supports 500+ travel businesses across six African markets, with its footprint continuing to expand. Through one connected platform, Triply is helping travel businesses streamline operations, reduce costs and protect their bottom line.

By focusing on the businesses behind travel experiences, Triply aims to make digital transformation practical for the operators and agents that serve traveller’s across Africa.
