Safaricom has taken its Home Internet customer engagement efforts to Avenue Park Phase 1 in Embakasi, Nairobi, where residents had an opportunity to interact directly with the company’s technical and customer support teams.
The engagement was held as part of Safaricom’s ongoing Home Internet Clinics. These bring the company’s teams closer to communities to address connectivity concerns, provide technical guidance and help customers understand available home internet solutions.
Speaking during the clinic, Hakim Ali from Safaricom’s Home Segments team said Avenue Park is about 70% connected to Safaricom’s network.
“These clinics are important because they bridge the gap between Safaricom and our customers,” Ali said, adding that the company had brought experts and technicians to address customer concerns directly.
The clinic also provided an opportunity to learn about additional connectivity options. Paul Wanyoke, who has used Safaricom Home Fibre for about one and a half years, said he was particularly interested in Safaricom’s portable router, which could provide connectivity while travelling without relying on mobile data bundles.
According to Safaricom’s FY25/26 results, its Fibre-to-the-Home customer base grew by 35% year-on-year to 407,080, while homes passed increased by 16.2% to 807,020.
Safaricom has also increased speeds across its Home Fibre plans by up to 2.5 times at no additional cost, allowing customers to connect more devices and access higher-speed connectivity.
The company says the Home Internet Clinics will continue as part of its efforts to engage directly with customers and expand access to reliable home connectivity.
