Doage has today announced the launch of its strategic advisory and commercialisation platform. This platform will help InsurTech startups, insurers, investors and technology companies turn their ideas and innovation to commercial growth.
Speaking on this, Dominic Agesa Kavugwi, the founder of Doage said,
“Africa does not have a shortage of innovation. What we still have is a commercialisation gap.”
The platform will partner with InsurTech startups, insurance companies, investors, venture capital firms, accelerators and international technology businesses. This is strategic and will be key as these partners develop and scale insurance and technology products across Africa.
Doage will also cover product-to-market structuring, go-to-market strategy, enterprise distribution, strategic partnerships, market entry and expansion.
The company says it will help startups move beyond product development and fundraising and get to customer acquisition, distribution and having recurring revenue.
African InsurTech market attracts more investment
According to AfricInvest’s 2026 African InsurTech Landscape, more than US$300 million has been invested in African InsurTech startups over the past five years.
The research also projects that Africa’s insurance market will grow from US$92.9 billion in 2024 to US$160.9 billion by 2033.
The company plans to act as a commercialisation partner by working with businesses to develop distribution strategies, establish partnerships and enter new markets.
“Investors are very good at allocating capital. Accelerators are very good at identifying and preparing entrepreneurs. Insurers understand risk. Founders understand the problems they are solving. But there is still a question between all of them: who owns commercialisation?” Kavugwi said.
Doage says it intends to help connect companies, capital and commercial opportunities as the continent’s insurance technology ecosystem evolves.
