Nutanix has announced the general availability of Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) 2.8 and Service Provider Central. The company announced this alongside the upcoming release of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) 2.19.
Nutanix says the new capabilities are designed to help enterprises deploy and manage AI, containerised applications and virtual machines through a more unified infrastructure environment. This can be achieved without having to rebuild existing systems.
A key focus of NAI 2.8 is agentic AI, with the new generally available MCP Gateway providing a secure entry point for AI agents to access enterprise tools and data. The platform also introduces enhanced private inference capabilities, including multi-GPU inference, fine-tuning and speculative decoding, which Nutanix says can accelerate AI model responses by up to 2.5 times.
Security has also been strengthened, with fine-grained identity and access controls designed to limit what AI agents and models can access.
NKP 2.19 will introduce capabilities including NKP Metal for simplified bare-metal Kubernetes deployments and an AI Applications Catalogue offering one-click deployment of selected AI and machine learning software.
Nutanix also highlighted its growing AI infrastructure ecosystem, noting that Nutanix Unified Storage has achieved NVIDIA-Certified Storage validation, aimed at improving data throughput and GPU utilisation for enterprise AI workloads.
For its partner ecosystem, Nutanix has launched the Powered by Nutanix: Verified Services programme, designed to help partners build recurring-revenue services around hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, AI and VMware migration.
“Enterprise AI should not require customers to rebuild the systems that already run their business,” said Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President, Product Management at Nutanix.
NAI 2.8 and Service Provider Central are available now, while NKP 2.19 is expected to become generally available soon.
