Stanbic Holdings Reports KES 6.6 Billion Profit in H1 2026

Stanbic Holdings has reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of KES 6.6 billion for the first half of 2026.

The Group’s total assets grew 27% to KES 602 billion, while customer deposits increased 28% to KES 422 billion. Customer loans also rose 24% to KES 290 billion.

Stanbic maintained strong asset quality during the period, recording a credit loss ratio of 0.5% and non-performing loans (NPLs) of 7.73%, which the Group said was significantly below the industry average.

“Our performance in the first half demonstrates the discipline and resilience that continue to define our business. We remain well-capitalised, deeply customer-centric, and steadfast in our commitment to support Kenya’s economic growth,” said Dr Joshua Oigara, Chief Executive, Stanbic Holdings Plc.

The Group continued to finance sectors including trade, energy, agriculture and manufacturing, while participating in major transactions such as the Kenya Pipeline Corporation IPO, Safaricom share-related transactions and the government-to-government petroleum importation programme.

Stanbic extended more than KES 21 billion in financing to SMEs, while the Stanbic Foundation provided KES 181 billion in concessionary lending to support entrepreneurs.

The Group also recorded growth in its wealth business, with assets under management increasing 63% to KES 7 billion. Its customer base grew 6% year-on-year to 258,000 customers.

Technology remained a key part of the Group’s strategy, with new functionality introduced on its mobile banking platform and Dynamic Currency Conversion launched across its ATM network.

Stanbic Holdings said it remains focused on supporting client growth, accelerating digital transformation, strengthening its balance sheet and delivering sustainable shareholder value amid a changing economic environment.
